Bay Laurel is an evergreen tree or shrub that has very aromatic leaves. It belongs to the genus Laurus in the Lauraceae and native to the Mediterranean region. They are commonly grown to be used as a cooking seasoning specifically for their leaves. The leaves could grow up to 12 cm long and 4 cm wide.

The scientific name for this plant is Laurus nobilis. Additional name for this plant include Bay Tree, Grecial Laurel, Laurel, Laurel Tree, Simply Laurel, Sweet Bag, Sweet Bay and Tree Laurel.
