Begonia are commonly grown indoors as ornamental houseplants in cooler climates. This genus is one of the largest of flowering plants with  more than 1,800 different plant species in the family Begoniaceae. Some species are cultivated outside in summertime for their bright colorful flowers. Some people eat them and this is sour to the taste.

The scientific name for this plant is Begonia spp.. Additional name for this plant include Belgian Begonias, Rex Begonias, and Tuberous Begonias.
