The Castor Bean Plant is poisonous for both cats and dogs.

Typical symptoms include colic, coma, convulsions, difficulty breathing, depression, excessive thirst, fever, loss of appetite, loss of coordination, trembling, trembling and weakness.

The Castor Bean plant or  commonly known as castor oil plant is the sole species in the monotypic genus, Ricinus, and subtribe, Ricininae. The Latin word Ricinus means tick because it has a bump at the end that resembles certain ticks. It is a species of perennial flowering plant in the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae.

The scientific name for this plant is Ricinus communis. Additional name for this plant include African Wonder Tree, Castor Bean, Castor Oil Plant and Mole Bean Plant.
