The Cyclamen is poisonous for both cats and dogs.
Typical symptoms include death, diarrhea, drooling, heart rhythm abnormalities, salivation, seizures and vomiting.
Cyclamen grow from tubers and are cultivated for their flowers and variably patterned leaves. They are commonly grown both outdoors and indoors in pots. It is native to Europe and the Mediterranean Basin east to Iran with a genus of 23 species.
The scientific name for this plant is Cyclamen spp. Additional name for this plant include Alpine Violet, Sowbread and Persian.
