Eucalyptus are commonly known as eucalypts along with other genus in the Eucalypteae. It is a genus of more than 700 species of shrubs or mallees in the myrtle family. Eucalyptus have bark that is either hard or stringy, smooth, fibrous, sepals and petals that are combined to form a cap and leaves with oil glands. Few species of Eucalyptus are native to islands north of Australia.
