The Eucalyptus is poisonous for both cats and dogs.

Typical symptoms include confusion, depression, diarrhea, salivation, vomiting, weakness and wheezing.

Eucalyptus are commonly known as eucalypts along with other genus in the Eucalypteae. It is a genus of more than 700 species of shrubs or mallees in the myrtle family. Eucalyptus have bark that is either hard or stringy, smooth, fibrous, sepals and petals that are combined to form a cap and leaves with oil glands.  Few species of Eucalyptus are native to islands north of Australia.

The scientific name for this plant is Eucalyptus species. Additional name for this plant include Gum Tree and Stringybark Tree.
