This citrus plant originating in Barbados is known for its relatively large sour to semi-sweet, somewhat bitter fruit. It was introduced from Asia in the seventeenth century.

The scientific name for this plant is Citrus paradisii. Additional name for this plant include Forbidden Fruit, Pomelo, Pummelo Grapefruit, Pink Grapefruit, Shaddock, and White Grapefruit.
