Jonquil is a bulbous flowering plant, in the family Narcissus (daffodil) that is native to Spain and Portugal but has now become naturalized in many other regions. It has been cultivated in France since 18th century for its oil use in modern perfumes.
The scientific name for this plant is Narcissus jonquilla. Additional names for this plant include Daffodil, Narcissus, Paper White, and Rush Daffodil.
