Lobelia is a herbaceous flowering plant that features a bright red in an erect raceme that could grow up to 28 inches tall. The anceolate to oval leaves could grow up to 8 inches long and 2 inches broad. They belong to the family Campanulaceae and native to the Americas, from southeastern Canada south through the eastern and southwestern United States.

The scientific name for this plant is Lobelia cardinalis. Additional name for this plant include Cardinalflower, Cardinal Flower, Cardinal Lobelia, Indian Pink, Red Lobelia and Slinkweed.
