The Ornamental Pepper is poisonous for both cats and dogs.

Ornamental pepper is a perennial plant that can be cultivated as houseplants. However it is considered as weed in New Zealand, Australia and South africa. Though it is spread in the wild by birds, it is native and introduced in Australia. This is commonly known as Madeira winter cherry, Jerusalem cherry or winter cherry and a species of the nightshade which is mildly poisonous.

The scientific name for this plant is Solanum pseudocapsicum. Additional name for this plant include Jerusalem Cherry, Madeira Winter Cherry, Natal Cherry and Winter Cherry.
