The Racemose Asparagus is poisonous for both cats and dogs.

Typical symptoms include abdominal pain, allergic dermatitis, anorexia, diarrhea, and vomiting.

Racemose Asparagus is related African to Asparagus species which is closely related to the vegetable asparagus.  It cannot tolerate frost that is why this is a native plant found in most parts of South Africa and is widely cultivated.

The scientific name for this plant is Asparagus densiflorus cv sprengeri. Additional name for this plant include Asparagus, Asparagus Fern, Climbing Asparagus, Climing Feather Fern, Emerald Feather, Emerald Fern, Feather Fern, Lace Fern, Plumosa Fern, Shatavari, and Sprengeri Fern.
