The Sorrel is poisonous for both cats and dogs.

Typical symptoms include depression, diarrhea, heart arrhythmias, hypocalcemia, labored breathing, muscle fasciculations, nausea, rapid breathing, renal failure, seizures, twitching, vomiting and weakness.

Sorrel also known as buckler sorrel, French sorrel, shield-leaf sorrel or the culinary name green-sauce. It has long leaves up to 10 cm and grows quickly to a clump up to 1 m. Sorrel is popular for its culinary purposes especially in salads.

The scientific name for this plant is Rumex scutatus. Additional name for this plant include Common Sorrel, Spinach-Dock, Narrow-Leaved Dock, Garden Sorrel, Narrow-Leaved Dock and Spinach Dock.
