Sweetheart Ivy is an evergreen climbing plant that grows up to 30 m high in common surfaces such as walls, tree trunks and gardens.The height depends on the condition of the surface and also the plant variety. Sweetheart Ivy features greenish yellow flowers and purple-black to orange-yellow berry fruits. It belongs to the family Araliaceae plant species and native to most of Europe and western Asia.

The scientific name for this plant is Hedera helix. Additional name for this plant include Branching Ivy, California Ivy, English Ivy, European Ivy, Glacier Ivy, Ivy and Needlepoint Ivy.
