Tree Tobacco is a poisonous plant since it contains the toxic alkaloid anabasine and ingestion of the leaves can be fatal. They are native to South America but it is now widespread in other continents. They are being cultivated for various purposes where in Native American groups, it is medicinal.

The scientific name for this plant is Nicotiana glauca. Additional name for this plant include Mustard Tree, Nicotania, Tobacco, Tobacco Bush, Tobacco Plant, Tobacco Tree and Wild Tobacco.
