The Variable Dieffenbachia is poisonous for both cats and dogs.

Typical symptoms include difficulty swallowing, drooling, irritation of mouth, pawing in the mouth and vomiting.

Variable Dieffenbachia are tropical plants native the Americas and several carribean islands. It is cultivated as ornamental plants known to live in temperate shade gardens and as a houseplant. Variable Dieffenbachia grows 3 ft to 10 ft. Like any other  Dieffenbachia, its sap is toxic.

The scientific name for this plant is Dieffenbachia picta. Additional name for this plant include Gold Dieffenbachia and Spotted Dumbcane.
