The Winter Cherry is poisonous for both cats and dogs.

Winter Cherry is perennial commonly grown as ornamental plants. However in countries like South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, it is considered as a weed. The name is derived from its ability to survive frosts and cold weather.
The scientific name for this plant is Solanum pseudocapsicum. Additional name for this plant include Jerusalem Cherry, Madeira Winter Cherry, Natal Cherry and Winter Cherry.
